So here’s my Stash Report for this week. While I did use 3 yards, I have to say that I added 3 1/4 yards because it was my birthday. I belong to the Birthday Fat Quarter Swap at Quilts Your Way. Here’s a picture of the fabulous Batik Fat Quarters I received from all my quilty friends. Aren’t they lovely? Can’t wait to put them into a quilt.
Here are my numbers for the year to date:
2009 Fabric In 100.74
2009 Fabric Out 52.39
2009 Net Used -48.35
Yesterday was my birthday. The big 60. And, my friends are welcoming me into the 60 something club. I don’t feel any different but somehow I feel like I’ve arrived. I felt the same way when I turned 50.
My son gave me the best birthday card that says it all. Here is a direct quote from the card. It’s from Hallmark so I’ll give credit where credit is due.
60 is about feeling excited to be alive at a time when you’re free to really live.
60 is about knowing yourself, being yourself-and truly like who you’ve become.
But most of all, 60 is about celebrating the beginning of the most beautiful years of your life.
I spent the day with my grandkids yesterday and we had our usual family party last night. Today, my friends are gathering for a barbeque. My best friend’s brother-in-law was also born on the 8th (although five years before me) so we are celebrating both our birthdays today.
Happy Birthday to us, John!
Happy Birthday!!! May this be the best year so far, with many great years still to come!! And may your fabrics all behave themselves and help you create things that make you laugh and give you joy!!!
All the Best!!!
