I haven’t been reporting weekly because I haven’t made a lot of progress. But here are my stats for the year as of today:
41.08 yards Used Year to Date
14.75 yards Added Year to Date
26.33 yards Net Used Year to Date
The yards added includes 6 yards of wide backing which is designated to back two quilts on my list. I just haven’t got them sandwiched together yet. Have to get a couple others quilted so I can use the pins. 🙂
I’ve been very good about buying this year. I’m saving it all up for my trip to Shipshewana in October. 🙂
So what have I been doing instead of using yardage? Well yesterday I had a marathon sew in to clean out my 1930’s fabric drawer. I need the space. I had used up most of the 2.5″ strips on a quilt for my good friends birthday next month. Most of what was left was 1.5″ strips and odd pieces. So I made 48 6.5″ string blocks for an idea I have floating around in my head.
I couldn’t count this in my yardage used since it was counted as used when it was stripped and put in the drawer. It’s so nice to have cleaned this out.
Check out how everyone else it doing here.
Great fabrics, congrats on using up your 1930’s stash.

Your blocks are so pretty! I have been working on a project using my 1930’s stash, and it feels great to finally be using it! I still have a ton leftover so I might borrow your idea and make string blocks…
