This weekend was another of Judy’s Quiltathon Weekends. I was at my son’s but I brought my quilting projects with me and actually accomplished a good amount.
First off, here’s what Jared Takes a Wife is looking like these days on my design wall. Not sewn together yet, just laid out on the wall. I just love the colors in this one.
Then, I started Judy’s latest Stash Project. Here is the first part all sewn together. 36 Flying Geese. I’m going to make mine square using 9 blocks instead of larger as Judy’s pattern calls for. I think it will make a great baby quilt. I have several babies on the horizon that I need to be ready for.
Finally, I decided to just do some mindless sewing and I put together 12 log cabin blocks from a pre-cut kit that I bought last year. These went together really fast and I have some ideas about how I will put them together into a top.
In addition, my granddaughter wanted a doll blanket for her Barbie dolls so we took an orphan block that she liked and put together as a small quilt. I let her work the sewing machine with my help. She did great and loves her new blanket. But I forgot to get a picture of her with it. Oh well, next time.
Thats what I got accomplished this weekend. Now it will be another two weeks before I get serious sewing done. I’m off to Reno for a three day weekend next weekend. A little Zonta business and a little playing with my Zonta sisters. Should be fun.
What did you all accomplish in your sewing rooms this weekend?
Hope you all have a great week.
